Know More Details About Coolangatta Accommodation

Coolangatta is the first town you come to after crossing the New South Wales border into Queensland. While it isn't as well known to most people as Surfers Paradise, its neighbor a little way up the coast, it is well known to surfers from around the world as the true surfer's paradise. The waves along the Coolangatta shoreline are as sought after by surfers as the waves of Hawaii and several of the world's top surfers call Coolangatta Accomodation.

While Coolangatta may be the true Surfer's Paradise, it is also a fantastic spot for everyone. It's more laid back than its neighbor to the north and has a more local atmosphere. You'll find a Coolangatta accommodation so close to the beach you can practically fall out of bed onto the sand and if you'd like to see the sights of the Gold Coast, they are all within easy reach. Whether you are a surfer or not, check out Coolangatta. It's the Queensland coast at its best.

A Complete Guide To Coolangatta

Coolangatta, in Queensland, Australia is the most southerly suburb of the Gold Coast, right on the border with New South Wales. In former times the area was a convict settlement, and then a centre for the logging and fishing industry. Now tourism is also a thriving business, and the fishing fleet supply fresh seafood to restaurants on both sides of the state border. This area is the location for Gold Coast Airport, and is the southern gateway to the Gold Coast region. Attractive beaches and rain forest covered mountain ranges can be easily visited by anyone staying in the region.

The area first came to the notice of Europeans in 1770 when the explorer, Captain James Cook, sailed along the coast of what is now Queensland. Captain Cook gave rather ominous names to a couple of local landmarks: Mount Warning and Point Danger. Nowadays Point Danger is a good spot for bird watching, and dolphin spotting, with the outside chance of spotting migrating humpback whales.
